Hygiene and Fire Safety
The 2004 development at Rathan House -The Guesthouse @ Eskbank - has ensured the Guesthouse complies with rigorous fire safety standards. The newbuild also included an easyclean Kitchen for Breakfast preparation only ;- designed to ensure Food Storage, Preparation and Cooking meets with excellent food Hygiene standards.

DISABLED FRIENDLY
The Guesthouse @ Eskbank - and the Luxury Apartment at Eskbank have recently had ramps built to ensure easy access for those using a wheelchair. A wetroom with handles and a shower seat has also been built in the groundfloor family Room at the Guesthouse in 2004. Easy access to the Grand Dining Room along a wide corridor.
The older person using the upstairs rooms will be pleased to hear that a new longer stair was built in 2003 with lower risers - so climbing stairs will be easier.
Having a disabled friendly policy is part of the MacRaes ongoing development plan - Needs differ - Ewan and Irene MacRae are open to new ideas - so do not be afraid to criticise or suggest new ideas.

YOUR COMFORT
The 2003/4 development ensured the highest insulation standards were incorporated. Double glazed Victorian style sash and case windows - excellent heat and noise insulation was ensured in the development. You will be warm and won't hear anything from the next room in the new annexe. Deep pile Scotch wool carpet and very good sized ensuite shower rooms with "Marmoleum" natural flooring. ( marmoleum - you may know it as linoleum is made from natural fibres and resins and has antiseptic qualities - it also looks good) . Incidentally - everything you will walk on at The Guesthouse @ Eskbank is made in Scotland.
